Skips & Rigby!

These two adorable, long hair dachshund brothers are named Skips and Rigby. They are about 2 years old and weigh 15 pounds each.

Skips & Rigby are looking for a home together because they are a bonded pair. They grew up together and love each other very much. They are wonderful little dogs and love to cuddle!

They would be very good with children. They love playing with each other, but they do not know yet what a toy is. They are about 80% potty trained, we are still working on it.

These two would not do good in a apartment because they do bark at times and they must have a fenced yard.

Skips and Rigby's combined adoption fee is $500.00 (cash or credit card). They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

This sweetheart will be at the Livonia PetSmart on Saturdays from 11-3. Come up and meet these cuties!

Let's Find A Home For Tommy!

This gorgeous guy is Tommy!

Tommy has been pretty much alone for over 4 months in an empty house. He is checked on daily but only for about 10 minutes and he does not understand what is happening. Can we please find this boy a home?

This sweetheart is 7 years old, neutered, micro-chipped, has his claws and is all up to date on vaccines.

He loves his play time and is affectionate with his people friends. He would probably do best as an only cat, but if given some time he should be ok with other cats too.

To inquire about Tommy, please e-mail WAG Animal Rescue at waganimalrescue@yahoo.com

A Simple Twist Of Fate

This sweet, loving dog is named Wheels. He had a rough start to life, being found in a dumpster at one of our vet offices.

A vet tech was taking trash out and saw something tied in a bag, moving. She ran back in to get assistance and they found this adorable dog in terrible condition!

Injuries to his back legs were old and decaying, and it looked as though he had been gnawing at them. As a result, both of his back legs had to be amputated.

Thank you Jeffery Animal Hospital for taking this little guy in and calling WAG to nurture him back to health!

Wheels is about a year old. He loves people, kids, dogs and cats. He loves to sleep with his fellow foster kittens. He does have a wheel chair but gets around just fine without it. Wheels is playful and likes to cuddle. He loves to follow his humans around and is very food motivated!

Wheels is vaccinated, micro-chipped, crate trained, neutered, heart-worm tested, and on flea and heart-worm prevention. He is not house-trained. He would do best in a belly band.

Wheels' adoption fee is $250.00 (cash or credit card)

This sweetheart will be at the Livonia PetSmart on Saturdays from 11-3. Come up and meet this cutie!

Look at their eyes. Without you, Pound Pals of Taylor would not be able to help them

Meet Bennie,  A young chocolate/black pit bull mix.  He came to the shelter as a stray on 12/16/14.  Animal control officer (ACO) Lanny Hall noticed Bennie was losing weight and his overall appearance was deteriorating.  Volunteers come when they can, but the ACO's are there every day, and notice changes in the animals.  After mentioning Bennie to the volunteers, he was taken to the vet last week.  He tested positive for whip worm, has open sores on his paws, and a skin infection.  He is now being treated, and is also on a vitamin to build his immune system and help with nutrition.  Bennie is as sweet as they come.  He sat in my lap the entire time he was at the vet.  He desperately needs a rescue or forever home.   He is very depressed at the shelter, and the stressful environment is not helping his health.

You can see his ribs

Lexis came to the shelter as a stray on 1/14/15.  Last week when volunteers were vaccinating the animals, they noticed poor Lexis was emaciated.  She was also having diarrhea in her kennel.  Bennie already had an appointment, so they took Lexis too, hoping they would be able to see them both.  Poor Lexis has a bacterial infection called clostridium.  She is being treated for the infection, and on probiotics and antidiarrheal medication.  She sat in the volunteers lap with her legs crossed, just like a princess.  Lexis needs rescue, as she is unable to be vaccinated because of her poor health, and this puts her at risk to contract more serious illnesses brought into the shelter by other animals.

Lexis being examined.  It is hard to see, but she is very emaciated.

These are just 2 animals that were taken to the vet by Pound Pals.  Last week the shelter had 6 new cats, and 11 new dogs that needed vaccines as well.  We are currently providing end of life care for 3 dogs, and have a momma cat with 7 kittens being taken care of by a volunteer. Please consider donating, and help us continue to care for the animals.

Without people like you, Pound Pals could not help the animals at the shelter.  Please consider making a donation to help us pay for medical expenses and vaccines.

Dominick asked Santa for a furever home

  Adopted

Dominick doesn't understand why he is still at the shelter.  It has been 3 long months.  He even talked to Santa at Christmas about a home.  But he still waits, day after day, he watches other dogs come and go.

He was brought in as a stray in early October.  He is very vocal in his kennel, which may be why he is overlooked.  He is very friendly, loving, and full of kisses.  We are not sure if he is good with other dogs or cats, but we could do a meet and greet at the shelter with one of our trainers.

BROTHERS AND A SISTER

One cold day last November this little family was very hungry, sad and scared. Someone left them in a box at the animal shelter. They were cold and missing their mother very much. Thanks to one of the volunteers who gave them a foster home, they were fed and warmed and loved and cuddled. Now they are a very happy family!

There are three brothers and one little girl. They've been together all along, but they are 10 weeks old now and ready to venture out on their own to new families and forever homes. Wouldn't you love to help them have a happily ever after?!
