Razzamatazz!

Razzamatazz is an adorable black and white, 12 week old puppy with a super cute nose. We think she is a Border Collie/Boxer mix, but we really don't know for sure.

She and her brother were rescued from a shelter. She is a very playful and active puppy. She loves all people and animals, and she can't get enough attention.

Razz is a very sweet puppy who is going to be high energy and will need a lot of training. She is not house-trained. She would do well with another young high energy, large breed dog. She is fostered with other big dogs and does great with them.

Razz is on heartworm and flea preventative, up to date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped. Razz will require a fenced yard and no children under 8. No apartments or condos. Razz would do best with an experienced dog owner.

Razz's adoption fee is $250.00 (cash or credit card) which includes a $50 deposit that you get back once she is spayed.

This sweetheart will be at the Livonia PetSmart on Saturdays from 11-3. Come up and meet this cutie!

Our Beautiful Otis!

Otis is a shy but sweet boy that is just under a year old. He was found outside when he was just a baby and was brought in by an elderly woman to care for. He was brought to WAG because the woman didn'€™t feel she could properly care for him throughout the rest of his life.

This sweet boy is looking for a laid back and understanding home. He is extra sweet once he trusts you, but it just takes time.

Otis would do best in a home without dogs, but with another cat (or cats) to be friends with. He is up to date on his vaccines and has been neutered. Please give him a chance!

Our cat adoption fee is $75.00 and kittens are $60 plus refundable $25 spay / neuter deposit. (cash or credit card)

This sweetheart will be at the Livonia PetSmart on Saturdays from 11-3. Come up and meet this cutie!

Feelin' Lucky?

Meet Lucky! A super sweet and fun guy! He's about 4 years old, a beagle/terrier mix and weighs about 24 lbs. He is house broken and crate trained, but the crate is not necessary as he doesn't mess with anything in the house.

This sweet boy's goal in life is to make you smile and pet him. He walks on a leash very well and loves, loves, loves to ride in the car. He is good with other dogs and will be great with children.

Lucky's first owner didn't want him, so a nice lady took him but she locked him in a crate in her barn with no other animals or attention. When we first got him he was super shy and timid. He is still a bit timid and needs reassurance, but he is full of love and will be great for a family seeking a pet.

Lucky is neutered, on heart worm and flea preventative, up to date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped. Lucky will require a fenced yard and no children under 6. No apartments or condos.

Our adoption fee is $200.00 (cash or credit card)

This sweetheart will be at the Livonia PetSmart on Saturdays from 11-3. Come up and meet this cutie!

Colbolt's Bucket List Updated 3/26/15

Colbolt crossed over to the rainbow bridge Monday 3/23/2015

I am crying as I write this, but know that he was loved and did not make the journey alone.  His mommy and daddy were with him.  I am posting some pictures of Colbolt from his bucket list, and his final moments on the way to the vet.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I realize most people know that Pound Pals of Taylor pays for vaccines and emergency medical expenses for the animals at The Taylor Animal Shelter.  But, did you know, that Pound Pals also has some special people, that will adopt, or foster animals that need end of life care?  Pound Pals of Taylor covers the expenses, while the animals spend their remaining days in a loving home, being made comfortable, spoiled, and loved.

This is Colbolt's story

Last fall, Colbolt came to The Taylor Animal Shelter in early October as an owner surrender.  He had several visible tumors and severe arthritis.  Pound Pals volunteers took him to the vet and he was given medication for his arthritis.
Weeks went by and no one seemed to want Colbolt.  I mean, really, can you blame anyone?  Who wants an older dog, that has arthritis, and will need medication for the rest of his life.  And, those tumors still needed to be biopsied.  That is a lot of money to spend on a senior boy who has an unsure future.  The longer he was at the shelter, he started getting depressed, and hanging his head when he looked at you.  Being in a small kennel was not good for his arthritis either.  He began refusing to even come out of his kennel for a walk.  At this point the tumor on his neck proved to be cancer.  Colbolt had lymphoma, and a limited time left on earth.  This was utterly heartbreaking for volunteers who had grown to love this special boy.
One of our dedicated volunteers and foster homes, had enough room for this boy with the gentle soul.  They opened up their home and their hearts.  Colbolt started to thrive.  He was happy just lounging on their bed and snuggling in the blankets.  He was walking much better, enjoyed going outside, and playing with toys.
After several wonderful months Colbolt started to show signs of his illness.  He began sleeping more, not wanting to eat, and began to lose weight.
Currently, Colbolt is still with his loving family.  He is on steroids, pain medication, eating only chicken and rice, and being kept comfortable.  He is still walking around, wagging his tail, and giving kisses freely.  His mommy knows his days are limited.  She feels he will let her know when it is time for him to cross over to the rainbow bridge.  Until then, she wants him to have an epic bucket list adventure.

If you have any ideas for Colbolt's bucket list, please leave a comment.

Neil Diamond Is Looking For Love!

Looking for love? Look no further!

I am a distinguished, mature, loving, 10 year old-ish guy. I'm a Scorpio who enjoys treats, car rides & snuggling. My bug-a-boo's are mean people & taking baths.

I was at a shelter for 3 1\2 months before WAG rescued me. They quickly found out that I have Cushing's Disease. This requires me to take a pill once a day & have a blood test 2 times a year to ensure I'm still doing great.

I am a Yorkshire Terrier. I'm up to date on my shots and neutered.

If you have room in your heart & home I would love to meet you!
