Meet Amelia aka Sweet Pea!

The vet estimates Amelia to be around 4 to 5 months old, as her adult teeth are almost all in. She weighs about 20 lbs and we believe she is some sort of terrier mix. She has the cute face of a pit bull terrier, but her body and size suggest a mix of a smaller breed. She should be a medium sized dog, around 30 to 35 lbs.

Poor Amelia was rescued from a shelter as a baby, after being found as a stray. She wouldn't have survived much longer on her own.

Amelia had a skin condition called Demodex mange that left her with itchy, red skin and caused her to lose her fur. Demodex mange is not contagious to other animals. This is a common condition for puppies. It is very treatable and Amelia is doing very well with treatment and her fur is starting to grow back.

She will be ready for adoption once she completes treatment in a few weeks.

If you are looking for a lap dog or a companion, than Amelia is your girl! She just loves everyone she meets. Her favorite thing to do, is lay in your lap and snuggle.

She is fostered with other large dogs and does well with them. She loves romping in the yard with them and wrestling around. She would do well with another large, active dog who likes to play. She is fostered with cats and does like to annoy them. She will chase them, but does not hurt them. She does like to bark when she gets excited.

Amelia is not 100% housetrained. She is crated during the day and does not have accidents in her crate, however, she does not enjoy her crate. She would not do well being left alone for more than 4 hours a day. She would also not do well in a home with young children, as she is still learning her manners. Older kids are fine. She will need a fully fenced in yard to keep her safe.

Amelia is such a sweet girl and will be the perfect companion. If you promise to give her a lifetime of love, she will do the same.

Our adoption fee is $250.00 (cash or credit card). You will get $50 back once you have her spayed at 6 months old.

This sweetheart will be at the Livonia PetSmart on Saturdays from 11-3. Come up and meet this cutie!
